BRELA issues notice to owners of registered Companies in Tanzania

Business Registrations and Licensing Agency (BRELA) is in the process of updating company information and records into the Online Registration System (ORS). In order to complete the exercise, the Registrar of Companies will strike off defunct companies from the Register of Companies.

As per the Registrar, defunct companies are those that have failed to file Annual Returns in accordance with section 128 of the Companies Act, Cap. 212.

A 30 day notice was served starting the 27 May 2022 to allow companies to update their records accordingly.

BRELA also published a list of companies that it proposed to be struck off as seen below:
